Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dermatology practice in DUMBO, Brooklyn. This is a part-time, primarily clinical role focused on supporting our dermatologists during patient visits, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a high standard of patient care. The ideal candidate has prior dermatology experience, is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and takes initiative to keep daily clinic operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Room patients, obtain medical histories, document vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Assist dermatologists with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures, including biopsies, excisions, injections, and other in-office treatments.
Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
Document relevant clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) and assist physicians with clinical documentation as needed.
Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions under physician direction.
Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
Maintain infection control, patient safety, and HIPAA compliance standards.
Support efficient patient flow and collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical staff.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of prior dermatology Medical Assistant experience required. We also welcome candidates pursuing a career in medicine, including those preparing to apply to medical school and looking to gain hands-on clinical experience.
Experience assisting with dermatologic procedures, including biopsies and excisions, strongly preferred.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Medical Assistant certification or equivalent relevant clinical experience required.
Schedule & Compensation:
Part-time position with required availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays within operating hours of 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. Hours may vary based on clinic schedules and patient volume.
Compensation:
