Aquila's Fitness Specialist (as needed schedule) assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center. This position is on a part-time, as-needed basis to provide coverage at our corporate fitness center in-person in Washington, DC. The pay rate is $23/hour. Work hours may fall anytime between Monday-Friday, between 5:15 am-5 pm.

- As a Health and Fitness Specialist, your responsibilities include:
- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
- Explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client's policies and procedures
- Attend staff meetings
- Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
Qualifications:- B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health/fitness field
- Active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
- Active CPR certificationUS Citizenship as this is a federal agency
- Ability to pass a federal security clearance process 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
