If you're competitive, persuasive, comfortable picking up the phone, and want to build a career where your income grows with your ability to sell, keep reading. This Is a Sales CareerThe product happens to be people and opportunity. Verticalmove is a technology recruiting and executive search company. We help technology companies compete for highly sought-after talent. Our recruiters operate a full sales desk, which means you're selling in both directions. You sell candidates to companies. You'll identify hiring managers, develop new business, understand what they're trying to build, and persuade them to meet and hire the people you represent. You sell companies to candidates. You'll identify talented people who often aren't looking for another job, get their attention, understand what motivates them, and sell them on why a particular company or opportunity deserves a conversation. You're constantly prospecting, qualifying, presenting, handling objections, negotiating, following up, and closing. That's sales.
What You'll Learn:

You'll learn the entire sales cycle:
- Prospecting and cold outreach
- Cold calling and phone-based selling
- Identifying and qualifying opportunities
- Discovery and needs analysis
- Building relationships with executives and hiring managers
- Identifying and recruiting highly sought-after technology professionals
- Presenting candidates to companies
- Presenting companies and opportunities to candidates
- Objection handling
- NegotiationClosingAccount development
- Building and managing your own book of business
You'll learn how to sell to everyone from a Software Engineer to a VP of Engineering, CTO, founder, or executive.
And as you develop, you keep the clients you win.
The Technology:
We've invested heavily in AI, automation, proprietary data, and recruiting technology. Why? Because we don't want talented salespeople spending their days doing $20/hour administrative work. Technology handles more of the research, data gathering, organization, and repetitive work so you can concentrate on the things humans still do best: Talk. Listen. Persuade. Negotiate. Build relationships. Close. Who We're Looking ForYou don't need recruiting experience. We're looking for people early in their careers who want to become exceptional at sales. You might have 1–2 years of experience in: SDR / BDR sales SaaS or technology sales Retail or wireless sales Automotive sales HospitalityReal estate Fitness sales Customer-facing business development Another competitive, performance-based environment More important than your previous title is how you're wired. You're competitive. You're comfortable talking to strangers. You don't take rejection personally. You follow up. You want to be coached. You want your performance measured. You'd rather have your compensation tied to what you produce than wait years for someone to give you a promotion. And when someone tells you "no," your instinct is to understand why, not disappear. Compensation$60,000 starting base salary$10,000 production bonus Uncapped commission This is designed to give you the security of a salary while you learn the business, with meaningful upside as you develop your desk. The objective isn't to remain an Associate Sales Executive forever. It's to learn how to build a business. Where This Can GoYou'll start by learning our market, technology, sales process, and recruiting playbook. As your capabilities grow, so does your responsibility. You'll progress from prospecting and qualification into running a full desk, developing clients, recruiting talent, managing searches, negotiating offers, and growing your own portfolio of relationships. You don't need to become a manager to make more money. Your book of business becomes an asset you build over time. Why Verticalmove? We've been recruiting technology professionals since 1999.Long before AI recruiting became a category, we were recruiting Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, Data professionals, and the people building the technologies everyone is talking about today. We've combined that experience with modern AI, automation, and proprietary technology designed to remove friction from the sales process. But technology doesn't create the relationship. Technology finds the signal. Salespeople create the conversation. If you want to learn how to prospect, sell, recruit, negotiate, and close while building a book of business you can grow throughout your career, we'd like to talk.
