Recruitment Consultant – Finance Practice
Location: Wall Street, New York City
Schedule: 4 days in-office, 1-day WFH
Start Date: Q4Compensation: $55,000–$60,000 base DOE + uncapped commission
Build your 360 careers on a desk that’s already billing. Spencer Ogden’s New York Finance Practice is growing, and we’re looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join one of the highest-potential desks in our North America business. This is not a cold start. You’ll join a specialist Finance & Private Capital desk with $1.75 millions of live business already in motion, working with leading Private Equity funds, Investment Banks, Asset Managers, Developers, Energy-Tech businesses and Infrastructure platforms. Average fees are $50,000–$60,000, so you’ll be working on high-value mandates from the start.
The Role: This is a 360 role with a delivery-led start. You’ll begin on live mandates, then take on business development as you hit your stride, building your own client portfolio alongside the desk’s existing accounts.
What you’ll be doing: Delivering on live mandates: Sourcing, headhunting and managing mid-to-senior finance professionals across Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment & M&A, FP&A, Asset Management and Real Assets & Infrastructure Finance, from first outreach through to offer, close and placement. Developing your market knowledge: Becoming a trusted voice on energy and infrastructure investment, hiring trends and the funds and companies driving the market. Moving into BD: Re-engaging existing relationships, pitching new clients and negotiating fees, with support from senior desk members.
What we’re looking for:
  • 6 months+ years’ recruitment experience (Contract or perm) in any technical market
  • A solid delivery record and the ability to manage active mandates
  • A genuine appetite for business development and the ambition to become a full 360 consultant
  • Confidence speaking with senior candidates and stakeholders
  • Resilience, strong communication and commercial awareness
  • A competitive, financially motivated approach
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization
