Concrete Science Technician The Concrete Science group at Braun Intertec is looking for a technician to join our Bloomington, MN materials lab team. Duties will include concrete materials batching & testing, chemical testing on cementitious materials, physical testing of cementitious products and concrete materials, as well as helping with sample preparation on petrographic projects.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and perform testing in the concrete batching laboratory
- Durability testing on concrete products
- Conduct technical work on laboratory projects with oversight of senior staff
- Perform various chemical tests on cementitious materials and mortars
- Perform various mortar tests on cementitious materials.
- Prepare samples for petrographic analysis by making petrographic thin sections, and sample cutting and polishing
- Maintain well organized laboratory and project timelines.
- Willing and able to learn new methods and techniques for testing cementitious materials.
- Ability to move from task to task efficiently and effectively.
Required Skills and Experience:- 0 - 2 years of work experience in the aggregates, concrete or cement industry
- A safety first attitude
- Ability to conduct technical laboratory work and follow standard testing procedures such as ACI and/or ASTMA demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical concepts
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office 365 experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- A High School diploma or equivalent
