About the Role:
As a Hospitalist, you will serve as the primary care provider for inpatients, managing their medical care from admission through discharge. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, patient-centered care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
- Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and support staff for integrated care
- Monitor patient progress, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Facilitate safe and effective discharge planning and transitions of care
What We're Looking For:- Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience in hospital settings and familiarity with inpatient protocols
- Commitment to patient advocacy and continuous quality improvement
Education & Certifications:- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Virginia
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by an approved board
- Current DEA license
Qualifications:- Independent decision-making in patient care
- Timely and accurate documentation
- Experience with managed care and Medicare populations
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
- Ability to complete charts and communicate with care teams promptly
