Grinding and Surface Prep Assistant, Pipe Fabrication:
Ready for long, steady hours and hands-on work that keeps production moving? If you’re comfortable in a non–climate-controlled shop and can spend most of your shift at a grinder, this role is for you.
Quick facts: Local, growing manufacturing shop
Hours: 5:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
Overtime: Expect a lot of itPay: $17–$18 per hour
Environment: Non–climate-controlled What you’ll handle Grinding pipe to prep for welding (about 75% of your day) Cleaning pipe with solutions to remove oils, rust, and residue Equipment you’ll use Surface Grinder Manual Grinder Why this role matters Weld quality depends on clean, properly finished pipe. Your surface prep ensures strong welds and reliable throughput for the entire team.
