Data Center Commissioning Engineer

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Commissioning Engineer to lead end-to-end commissioning of data centers across the Central US region. You will plan and execute functional and integrated systems testing for critical electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and scalability of AWS infrastructure. Partner with design, construction, and operations teams to validate performance, resolve defects, and drive root-cause analysis. You’ll own documentation, test scripts, and acceptance reports while influencing design standards and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment. Plan and execute commissioning for AWS data centers across the Central US region. Develop and run functional and integrated systems tests for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems. Review designs, submittals, and MEP drawings to ensure commissioning requirements are met. Identify, document, and drive resolution of defects and performance gaps. Perform root-cause analysis on issues discovered during testing and handover. Produce detailed test scripts, commissioning reports, and acceptance documentation. Coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams, as well as vendors and contractors. Validate system reliability, safety, and scalability before production handover. Support standardization and continuous improvement of commissioning processes and guidelines. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, safety standards, and operational best practices.
