This role is responsible for developing high-level production schedules, analyzing constrained versus unconstrained capacity, understanding machining capabilities to offer capacity solutions, and driving future scheduling automation objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Monitor flow of low mix / high volume production jobs. Includes controlling the flow through bottleneck resources and ensuring minimal disruptions throughout the rest of the supply chain.
- Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, aligning demand forecasts with available production capacity.
- Analyze constrained versus unconstrained capacity scenarios to identify bottlenecks and problem solve for optimal outcome.
- Build and maintain capacity planning models incorporating machine hours, labor availability, and tooling constraints.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, and Program Management to prioritize jobs and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Maintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system, including routings, standard times, and work center capacities.
- Track schedule adherence and analyze root causes of schedule slippage, driving corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline scheduling, planning, and capacity analysis processes.
- Schedule and manage expedite requests in coordination with the sales team.
- Monitor ESB (Electronic Scheduling Boards) and work with Plant managers and Team leaders to maximize scheduling outcome in tandem with setup time reduction.
- Establish AR target and monitor monthly progress to ensure it is met.
