Description:
Not every job in this business happens behind the wheel.
Some of the most important work we do starts with one person, in one vehicle, seeing what everybody else drove right past.
That's a Field Investigator. And at United, it's not a starter job - it's a craft.
Here's the truth most companies won't tell you: a great Field Investigator is a different kind of talent than a recovery agent. It takes patience. Pattern recognition. The discipline to sit, watch, and confirm before anyone moves. The instinct to know when something's off and the judgment to know what to do about it. You're the intelligence that makes the whole operation work. When you're good at this, you are worth your weight in gold - and we treat you like it.
What the job actually is:
You locate vehicles, confirm they're real, and verify the details before a recovery is ever attempted.
You work leads, addresses, and patterns - turning a cold file into a confirmed find.
You're the difference between a wasted trip and a clean recovery.
No truck. No tow. No confrontation. Your job is to find and confirm - smart, safe, and sharp.
Why United is the place to do it:
The best tools in the business. ClearPlan, ClearData, RDN, Insightt, DRN LPR - plus tech we build in-house. You're not guessing. You're working with the sharpest intelligence stack in the industry.
You learn the business from the ground up. There's no better way to understand how recovery really works than to be the person who finds the cars. You'll know this industry cold.
A company that backs you. 24/7 support. Real training through Recovery Master. Safety first, always. And a team that treats the FI role as essential - because it is.
Room to grow - your way. Most of our best Field Investigators never want to leave the role, and they build long, rewarding careers doing exactly this. A few discover it's their way into a truck as a recovery agent someday. Both paths are wins here. There's no clock on you and no expectation either way - you build the career that fits you.
Who we're looking for:
You don't need experience. You need to be observant, dependable, and hungry to learn. If you notice the things other people miss, if you'd rather outsmart a problem than muscle through it, if you want a real foothold in an industry that isn't going anywhere - this is your door in.
Sharp eyes. Smart moves. A real career.
Come find out what you can do at United.
