Direct Support Professional Looking for meaningful work where you can be a mentor, coach, and positive influence? Kindly Direct Care hires Direct Support Professionals to work one-to-one with adults with developmental disabilities throughout New Jersey. This role is a strong fit for people who enjoy mentoring, teaching, coaching, recreation, community involvement, or helping another person become more independent. You do not need to think of yourself as a traditional "caregiver" to make an excellent DSP. The right candidate is dependable, encouraging, respectful, and able to build a consistent relationship. What You May DoSpend time in the community participating in recreation, exercise, errands, events, hobbies, volunteering, or other meaningful activities. Coach daily living, social, communication, problem-solving, and independence skills. Help an individual build routines, confidence, self-advocacy, and greater community connection. Support progress toward individualized goals while respecting the person's choices and preferences. Provide companionship and model appropriate communication and relationships. Assist with daily routines or other support needs depending on the assignment. Maintain safety, follow individualized support instructions, and communicate concerns promptly. Complete required documentation and maintain reliable attendance and communication.
