Position description:
The Department of Statistics in the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.
The Department of Statistics is seeking applicants from all research areas in Statistics, Probability, and Data Science with priority given to overall originality and research potential instead of focusing on particular subareas of interest. This includes research in theoretical, applied, and computational statistics; probability; interdisciplinary applications; and adjacent fields such as machine learning.
The Berkeley Department of Statistics is consistently ranked as a top program in Statistics internationally. Since the inception of the Department in 1955, graduates and faculty of Berkeley have shaped the foundations of Statistics. The department is equally proud of our interdisciplinary and collaborative nature, with many faculty and students collaborating across fields such as medicine, public health, the social sciences, and computer science.
