Jewett-Orthopedic-Institute-Surgery-Center is hiring: Perioperative Surgical Assistant in Orlando

Salary Range: $18.00 To $24.00 Annually

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and organized surgical assistant to support our team in daily operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. This role is essential in ensuring smooth workflow and effective coordination among surgical cases.

Duties: Provide support to operating room personnel to facilitate surgical cases. Help surgeons in operations as a second scrub tech. Assist in preparing operating room turnovers. Handle correspondence and communication with operating room nurses, anesthesia techs, and surgical techs. Maintain organized method for meeting our turnover metrics. Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and travel arrangements. Support project management tasks by tracking deadlines and deliverables. Perform general office duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, and managing cleaning supplies/equipment.

Experience: Previous experience in a perioperative surgical assistant role, specifically retracting and assisting surgeons in operating room. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and clients. A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment is highly valued.
