HVAC Technician (Commercial/Industrial)
Pay: $30/$35/hrLocation: Hunsvtille, ALAbout the Role
Seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems across City-owned facilities, parks, and recreational buildings. This role works independently, supports preventative maintenance programs, and responds to HVAC service needs while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED (technical/trade school preferred)4+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC experience
- Journeyman HVAC certification
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain CDL Class B endorsementEPA Refrigerant Certification preferred/required
Key Responsibilities:- Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, compressors, motors, and refrigeration systems
- Service DX equipment, VRF/VRV, mini-split, CRAC, and PTAC systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot building automation and DDC control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics
- Complete service documentation and work orders using mobile devices and computers
- Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors
- Participate in on-call rotations and support facility improvement projects
Preferred Skills:- Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and air distribution systems
- Experience with VAV, VVT, ERV/ERU, VFD, and ECM motor systems
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) and DDC controls experience
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting expertise
- Welding experience is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
