Salary Range: 150,000 - 175,000 annually, plus a comprehensive compensation package
Position Summary:
Medix is seeking ahands-on Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Managerto lead the engineering team that designs and supports automated control systems for equipment used to produce medical isotopes for diagnostic imaging and cancer treatment. This is a working manager position. In addition to setting priorities and developing the team, you will contribute directly to system design, programming, integration, troubleshooting, testing, and startup. You will help engineers solve difficult technical problems while coordinating project delivery with other teams and company leadership.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage I&C engineers while remaining actively involved in technical work.
Design and improve control system hardware and software for scientific instruments and production equipment.
Develop or modify control software, review code, and troubleshoot issues during integration and startup.
Guide projects from requirements and architecture through programming, testing, qualification, and plant startup.
Work alongside the team to diagnose system faults, improve performance, and resolve complex technical challenges.
Establish engineering standards for system architecture, code quality, documentation, and testing.
Assign work, manage priorities, and coordinate schedules and resources across multiple projects.
Partner with project managers, other engineering groups, and stakeholders to resolve requirements and communicate progress and risks.
Evaluate control technologies and help shape the long-term direction of automation platforms.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.7 or more years of relevant I&C, controls, or automation engineering experience preferred.
Experience leading engineers or technical project teams.
Hands-on experience designing, programming, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting control systems.
Knowledge of I&C hardware and software, qualification activities, and plant startup.
Ability to balance people leadership and project oversight with direct engineering work.
