Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced In-House Litigation Attorney to join an established commercial collections organization in Sherman Oaks, California. Key Responsibilities:
Manage commercial litigation and collection matters from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents. Represent clients at hearings, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials. Develop litigation strategies for commercial disputes and creditor recovery matters. Handle California state court filings, service requirements, and procedural deadlines. Collaborate with internal teams to develop practical, results-oriented legal solutions. Negotiate settlements and evaluate enforcement and recovery options.
Qualifications:
Active California Bar license in good standing. Minimum 2 years of civil or commercial litigation experience. At least 2 years of trial experience. Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and state court litigation. Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional judgment. Experience in commercial collections, creditor rights, or bankruptcy matters is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary:
