In this role, you'll maintain and troubleshoot critical electrical systems, including emergency power and electrical distribution equipment, while ensuring compliance with life safety and electrical codes. Some evening or weekend work may be required. Maintain switchgear, motor control centers, emergency generators, and transfer switch equipment. Perform advanced electrical work supporting hospital facilities, utilities, and infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve electrical issues associated with A/C equipment and related components. Apply electrical, building, and life safety codes. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Use electrical testing devices to ensure safe and accurate system performance. Respond to urgent facility needs
Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience installing and maintaining commercial electrical distribution systems required. (Related experience combined with a three-year electrical apprenticeship may be considered).
Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare facility experience highly preferred.
Licensure:
City/county journeyman's card and/or electrician's license from the state of employment required. Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching. Ability to kneel for extended periods and climb ladders. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Manual dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment. Ability to hear and recognize changes in equipment operation. Ability to work in noisy, fast-paced environments and extended shifts when needed.
