Our client is seeking a skilled Histotechnologist / Histotechnician to support advanced diagnostic pathology services in a high-volume anatomic pathology laboratory. Requirements to Apply Bachelor's degree requiredASCP Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification required Minimum 1 year of relevant histology experience Experience with tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining Knowledge of histology and immunocytochemistry procedures Strong attention to detail, quality control, and troubleshooting skills Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced laboratory environment
Job Overview:
This position focuses on preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, performing specialized histology and immunocytochemistry testing, and supporting molecular testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily workload including embedding, cutting, staining, and specialized histology procedures
- Perform histology and immunocytochemistry testing to support patient diagnosis
- Process specimens for molecular testing
- Perform and document instrument maintenance
- Maintain quality control records and laboratory documentation
- Troubleshoot laboratory processes and follow up as needed
- Assess tissue adequacy and properly handle tissue specimens
- Communicate specimen information with pathologists and fellows
- Train and provide support to Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians
- Support high-volume testing and stat requests
- Shift Details3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM or 11:00 PM – 7:30 AMShift hours may vary based on department needs
