Logistics Intern

Company Description: Do you want to work for a company where the people are the purpose? Grimco is a leading $1.5 billion sign supply distribution company serving the graphics and signage industry. As a family-owned business, we combine the stability and resources of an industry leader with the agility and innovation of an entrepreneurial environment.

Job Description: INTERNSHIP OVERVIEWWe're looking for a summer intern to join our Logistics team and gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations that keep our supply chain running smoothly. This internship offers direct shadowing experience with logistics coordinators and operations and supply chain data analysts, providing a front-row view of how orders, shipments, and data come together to solve problems and enhance the customer experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: Shadow logistics coordinators to learn how shipments are planned, tracked, and resolved when issues arise. Work alongside operations and supply chain data analysts to understand how logistics data is collected, organized, and used to support decisions. Assist with day-to-day activities such as securing truckloads and reviewing delivery and transportation cost trends. Help document and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal and external teams. Identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement based on data, observations, and team feedback. Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas, and complete a small project or presentation by the end of the internship to showcase what you learned.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONSCurrently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field. Genuinely curious about how things work and interested in understanding the why behind a process, not just the steps. Detail-oriented and able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative team player who communicates well, asks thoughtful questions, and is eager to learn. Comfortable with, or eager to learn, Excel and spreadsheet tools; exposure to data analysis or AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot is a plus.

Additional Information: WHAT WE OFFERDirect shadowing and mentorship from logistics coordinators and operations and supply chain data analysts. Hands-on exposure to shipment planning, tracking, carrier sourcing, issue resolution, and the flow of orders through the supply chain. Practical experience using logistics data to evaluate delivery performance, transportation costs, and operational trends. Opportunities to contribute to process improvements, SOP development, and a meaningful end-of-internship project or presentation. Competitive internship compensation and the opportunity to be considered for future roles as business needs and candidate fit align.
