Controller/Accounting Manager - Construction Business Operations - BILINGUAL IN SPANISH REQUIRED
Position Summary:
Responsible for the integrity and veracity of the financial transactions of the company, preparing financial statements that are produced on time and representing accurate data.
Essential Functions:- Assist with the preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports.* Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies.* Research and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.* Solid knowledge of job costing accounting ( construction industry ).* Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards.* Compile and prepare routine reports, GL postings and summaries.* Monthly close duties include posting journal entries, accruals and reclasses, high volume account reconciliations and variance analysis.* Supervise all cash applications and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.* Assist with inventory counts and evaluation, if required.* Maintain fixed assets and assets financing schedules.* Provide guidance and orientation to accounts receivable and accounts payable teams as needed.* Support on external audits and review.* Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:- Associate degree in accounting with at least 10 years of relevant work experience* Ability to work independently and as part of a team* Strong problem-solving skills and work ethics* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:* Solid knowledge of IFRS and/or USGAAP reporting requirements, especially IFRS 15 or ASC 606 (mandatory)* At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry and elaborating Work in Progress report and Percentage of Completion methodology.* Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.* Advanced spreadsheet skills are required.* Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal - SPANISH REQUIRED* Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought-out conclusions.* Attention to detail and accuracy.* Willing to adapt quickly to quick changes in direction.* Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop solutions
