Job Description:
Job Description As a Flagger, you will help maintain safe traffic flow through work zones while supporting construction and roadway operations. You will work outdoors near moving traffic, often standing for extended periods in hot, cold, or rainy weather. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime, and you will report to the traffic control supervisor during each shift.
Responsibilities:
Control and direct traffic through active work zones.
Set up and maintain work-zone signage.
Support lane closures and changing traffic patterns.
Use radio communication to coordinate with the work-zone team.
Monitor conditions and promote safety for workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
Remain alert, dependable, and patient while following instructions.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to remain alert and follow instructions near moving traffic.
Dependability, patience, and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Flagger certification, where required. Prior flagging experience; entry-level candidates may receive training.
