Transportation Coordinator

Responsibilities: The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the drivers and buses assigned to routes, conducting safety and operational inspections, serving as the bus operator liaison for equipment and matters related to routes, maintenance, and student discipline, coordinating with maintenance vendors on repairs and inspections, advising school administration on applicants and bus operator issues, coordinating evacuation drills, communicating all routing issues, delays, and anomalies with school staff, assisting in maintaining an effective computerized transportation management system, and performing other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and SkillsThe ideal candidate should possess proficiency in general use of a computer, strong decision-making capabilities, above-average communication, collaboration, and delegation skills, a strong working knowledge of operational procedures, the ability to read and interpret a map, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. The job requires a Bachelor's degree preferred, a valid Commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, a clean driving record, Commercial License Medical Examiner's Certification, CPR Certification, School Bus Driver Certificate, and continuing education/training/compliance including monthly safety meetings and annual school bus driver certification.
