Locum Physician

LocumJobsOnline seeks a Physician Assistant – Neurosurgery for locum tenens assignments in a leading Healthcare & Medical Services setting. In this role, you’ll support neurosurgeons in inpatient, OR, and clinic environments—performing pre- and post-op evaluations, first-assisting in surgery, managing rounds, and coordinating follow-up care. Perform comprehensive neurosurgical pre- and post-operative assessments First-assist in neurosurgical procedures under attending supervision Manage inpatient rounds, orders, and daily progress notes Conduct outpatient follow-up visits and wound checks Interpret imaging and diagnostic studies within scope of practice Collaborate with neurosurgeons, nurses, and allied health staff on care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and recovery plans Participate in call coverage as assigned for consults and post-op care Ensure documentation meets hospital, regulatory, and billing standards Maintain clinical competencies and certifications relevant to neurosurgery Neurosurgical patient assessment First-assist in surgery Inpatient hospital medicine Post-operative management Neuroimaging interpretation (basic) Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests Sterile technique and OR protocols Wound care and suture/staple removal Pain management and post-op complication recognition Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current NCCPA certification Active, unrestricted state PA license DEA registration (or eligibility) BLS and ACLS certifications Experience with neurosurgical or surgical subspecialty rotations
