About the Role:
Planet's mission is to image the entire Earth every day and make global change visible, accessible, and actionable. Delivering on that mission depends on our ability to attract exceptional people across engineering, manufacturing, commercial, and corporate teams. This role leads the strategy, operating model, and team behind how Planet finds, attracts, and hires that talent. Partner with executive leadership and hiring managers across the company to translate headcount plans into hiring outcomes. Own talent acquisition operations, systems, and reporting, ensuring the function runs on clean data and clear, consistent process. Build and manage the external partner ecosystem that extends Planet's reach into specialized and global talent markets. Champion an outstanding candidate experience, a compelling employer brand, and inclusive, equitable hiring practices. Use data to measure hiring outcomes, continuously improve them, and report progress and forecasts to senior leadership.
What You Bring:
10+ years of experience leading talent acquisition at scale in a high-growth organization, including building and managing geographically distributed teams.8+ years of people-leadership experience: hiring, coaching, and developing recruiters, sourcers, coordinators, and recruiting managers. A track record of designing and operating a recruiting model built on capacity planning, forecasting, process, and analytics — not reactive, req-by-req execution. Experience hiring for technical and specialized roles, ideally in engineering, hardware, or other complex disciplines. Ability to partner with, advise, and influence executives and senior hiring leaders. Experience selecting and managing external staffing partners and vendor relationships. Fluency with recruiting systems and data — applicant tracking, reporting, and analytics — and a habit of using metrics to guide decisions. Experience hiring across multiple regions, including outside the United States. What Makes You Stand Out: Experience scaling a talent acquisition function in aerospace, hardware, deep tech, or other complex engineering environments. Experience building or maturing recruiting operations, analytics, or capacity-planning capabilities.
