Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly residents to identify their specific care needs and devise personalized treatment plans. Collaborate actively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to formulate comprehensive, evidence-based care plans that emphasize holistic patient outcomes. Provide education and resources to staff and families on techniques to promote emotional well-being and enhance the quality of life for elderly clients. Deliver grief and loss counseling for clients and their families, helping them cope with end-of-life issues with sensitivity and compassion. Patient Population / Client FocusThis role primarily focuses on the geriatric population, interacting with seniors who may be experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders linked to aging. Qualifications: Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential. A minimum of 4 years of recent experience working specifically in geriatric counseling or mental health support. Significant understanding of age-related mental health issues and effective treatment methodologies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling connection with elderly clients and their families.
