City Retiree Temporary Positions The City of San José has a number of short-term, temporary, and part-time assignments available throughout the year. With state and federal grants, the City often has one-time temporary funding, which can make it challenging to hire staff who are looking for permanent positions. However, some of these opportunities may be perfect for a City Retiree who is looking for a shorter-term or part-time assignment. Additionally, departments may need help when a staff member is out on leave or for other reasons. If you have previously retired from the City of San Jose and are interested in learning about these opportunities, please provide some information about your prior work with the City, your background, and your interests. This information will be used to develop an interest list. If a position becomes available that matches your skills and interests, you may be notified.
