Job Start Date September 1, 2026 August 5, 2026POSITION: Mechanic LOCATION: Transportation JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanic will provide efficient, economical vehicle service and repairs ensuring the safe, efficient operating conditions of all school system vehicles and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Vocational diploma in Automotive or related field; Minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a mechanic; In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems; Must possess or attain and maintain a valid Georgia commercial driver's license with a "P" and "S" endorsement within 90 days of the hire date; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to apply critical thinking skills and recommendations in rendering solutions to various issues; Ability to maintain equipment records; Positive job attitude and the ability to work with others; Must have excellent organizational skills; Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
