Job Title: Tool Design Engineer

Duties:- Developing and testing new optical network design and optimization algorithms
- Design tooling and gaging utilizing CAD system upon request
- Oversees Engineering and Manufacturing production needs
- Coordinates routing and tooling requirements with the manufacturing process
- Estimates fabrication costs for Engineering P&QRs and short run production for spares
- Assists Designers, Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to resolve part and fabrication problems
- Creates, updates, and maintains tool drawings, files, and records
- Provides budget input
- Identifies and implements continuous productivity and quality improvements
- Knowledge of PLC operation, programming welding practices, and sheet metal fabrication
Required:- Ability to partner with Manufacturing Engineering and other Production Operation teams external suppliers and vendors
- At least 4 years experience establishing cost effective tool and fixture designs that support machined metal part production processes
- Significant experience designing fixtures with ProEUnderstanding of advanced tool design requirements
- Strong knowledge of machining, assembly and inspection processes for complex multi-axis machined parts
