The Role:
Wicket is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive pipeline growth in the Conferences & Trade Shows vertical. This is a prospecting-focused, top-of-funnel role: you will identify and engage decision-makers at show organizers and event management companies, generate qualified leads, and book meetings that feed the sales pipeline. This role reports directly to Wicket's Head of Partnerships and is ideal for someone who understands the conference and events ecosystem, has a hunter's mindset and has a track record of success building a pipeline through business development related activities.
What You'll Do:- Own top-of-funnel prospecting for the Conferences & Trade Shows vertical — targeting show organizers, professional conference organizers and event management firms
- Execute high-volume, multi-channel outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate qualified meetings and pipeline
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads against Wicket's ideal customer profile and book meetings with senior decision-makers
- Research target accounts and contacts to tailor outreach messaging to specific pain points — registration bottlenecks, badge/credential inefficiencies, attendee experience gaps — that Wicket's technology addresses
- Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships and marketing team to develop and refine outreach sequences, messaging, and positioning for the conferences market
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all outreach activity, contact information, and pipeline status in HubSpotDevelop a working knowledge of the conference technology ecosystem — key players, platforms, and how Wicket fits — and stay current on industry trends, events, and news
- Represent Wicket at select industry events and conferences, building relationships in person when required (up to 2–3 times per month within the US)
- What You Bring
Required:
1–3 years of outbound sales, business development, or lead generation experience — ideally in technology, SaaS, or a B2B events-adjacent business Genuine familiarity with the conference and trade show industry: you can speak credibly about the ecosystem, key players, how events are organized and run, and where operational pain lives Proven ability to conduct cold outreach at volume and convert conversations into qualified meetings Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with VP- and C-level decision-makers Self-motivated and organized, with the discipline to manage a high-activity outbound motion independently Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where processes are still being built Collaborate proactively with Wicket's internal teams — including marketing, partnerships, and product — using email, HubSpot, and shared tools to align on messaging, share market feedback, and coordinate on active opportunities
Preferred:- Experience with HubSpot and outbound email campaign tools (Apollo, Outreach, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace
- Background attending or working at conferences or trade shows; you know the floor, the badge desk, and networking
- Familiarity with registration technology platforms (RainFocus, Cvent, Bizzabo, Swoogo, etc.) or event tech broadly
- Compensation & xhqgsiq Benefits
Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
Bonus:
Eligible for quarterly performance bonus Location: Hybrid (Doylestown, PA) or RemoteWhy Wicket A genuine innovator — Wicket's opt-in facial authentication technology is changing how millions of people access live events, and the conferences market is a major growth frontier High-growth company with supportive leadership and clear advancement opportunities — BDRs who perform have a path to Account Executive and beyond A tight-knit team of people who are passionate about their work, the technology, and the live events industry Meaningful early-stage equity through Wicket's profits interest program
