Machinist - Belt Polish 2nd shift

POSITION SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates manual and CNC controlled belt polishing machines to meet customer and company requirements as indicated on the routing and blue prints for the parts. The use of blasting cabinets, media tumbling and vapor degreasing parts to clean and prepare the surfaces for manufacturing and coating parts as required by the company or customer and record all quality data as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret blueprintsUse gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirementsUse precision tools, machinery and equipment such as belt polisher and grit blasterProperly select correct belt grit and change as necessaryProperly select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, tooling and beltsPerform inspection of polished or blasted products (including documentation of results) Complete and maintain paperwork for partsPerform basic troubleshooting as requiredUtilize and abide by ISO requirements, regulations and instructionsMust also comply with quality policies, specs and other instructionsPerform all other duties, as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTSMust be able to stand, walk (on concrete surfaces), bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and lift to perform repetitive movementsMust be able to lift/push/pull objects up to 35 pounds, heavier objects require assistanceAbility to adhere to safety policiesMust be able to use computer to enter dataStrong attention to detailMust have working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions) Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math to perform basic calculations and use basic hand held measuring toolsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED RequiredCertification from Technical School a plus 1-3 years manufacturing experienceRBC Bearings is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
