Controls Programmer Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring for a Controls Programmer in Toledo, OH. As a Controls Programmer for Cardinal Staffing Services, you will work with a manufacturer of custom automation equipment, including glass processing, food processing, and packaging machinery. This role is responsible for programming, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting machine control systems while collaborating with engineering and production teams to deliver high-quality equipment to customers. This position requires candidates to work independently, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong technical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Cardinal Staffing Services is invested in their team members! All employees are offered competitive compensation of $60,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience, as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).Available Shift: 1st Shift Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Program PLCs, HMIs, and other machine control systems according to project requirements
- Collaborate with Controls Design, Mechanical Engineering, and Sales teams to understand machine specifications and functionality
- Test and troubleshoot machine programs prior to shipment
- Assist the Assembly Department with machine startup and commissioning on the production floor
- Travel to customer sites to assist with machine installation, startup, and testing
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on new and existing equipment
- Maintain software backups and documentation on company servers
- Develop operation manuals and support documentation for customers
- Provide phone support and assist with retrofits and upgrades on existing equipment as needed
Requirements and Qualifications:- Minimum of 2 years of machine programming experience preferred
- Technical degree preferred
- Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC programming required
- Experience with HMI programming required
- Understanding of machine control hardware and industrial automation concepts
- Servo motion control programming experience is a plus
- Understanding of CNC G-codes is a plus
- Knowledge of pneumatics and machine troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel approximately 25% to 30%, primarily within the United States, with occasional international travel
