Nurse Extern

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a motivated Nurse Extern to support patient-centered care in our hospital setting. Under the supervision of registered nurses, you will assist with vital signs, basic patient care, documentation, and unit support while building core clinical skills. Assist registered nurses with patient care activities under supervision Measure and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient observations Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team Follow infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality protocols Document care accurately in electronic health records as permitted Participate in training, simulations, and skills development sessions Vital signs measurement and documentation Basic patient care (bathing, toileting, positioning) Infection control and standard precautions Electronic health record documentation Basic medical terminology Patient and family communication Time management and task prioritization HIPAA and patient privacy compliance Team collaboration in clinical settings Safe patient handling and mobility techniques Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Enrollment in an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN) Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Eligibility to work in a direct patient care setting Compliance with hospital immunization and screening requirements
