Roof Install Technician

Required qualifications include: Previous roofing, construction, exterior repair, or related trade experience preferred. Knowledge of common roofing systems, materials, and repair techniques. Ability to identify and troubleshoot roof leaks and water-intrusion problems. Ability to safely use roofing tools, ladders, and related equipment. Comfortable working on roofs and at elevated heights. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record if operating a company vehicle is required.

Physical requirements include: Climb and work safely from ladders and on roofing surfaces. Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl, and maintain balance for extended periods. Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull roofing materials, tools, ladders, and equipment. Work at various heights and roof pitches. Safely navigate uneven, sloped, or potentially slippery surfaces. Perform physically demanding work outdoors. Work in hot, cold, humid, windy, and other changing weather conditions, subject to company safety policies.

Work environment includes: Field-based position requiring regular travel to residential and/or commercial properties. Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve exposure to heat, cold, sunlight, wind, dust, construction debris, and other normal roofing and construction-site conditions. Work schedules may vary depending on weather, customer needs, emergency repairs, and seasonal workload. Performance expectations include: Arrive on time and prepared for assigned jobs. Accurately identify roofing problems rather than simply treating visible symptoms. Complete repairs correctly and efficiently. Minimize callbacks and repeat leaks through thorough diagnosis and quality workmanship. Follow safety procedures every time, even on smaller or seemingly simple repairs. Maintain accurate job documentation and photographs. Communicate promptly when additional damage or unexpected conditions are discovered. Protect customer property and maintain clean job sites. Treat customers, coworkers, vendors, and supervisors professionally and respectfully. Take ownership of assigned work from initial inspection through completion.

Preferred qualifications include: Four or more years of roofing or roof-repair experience. Experience with asphalt shingles and common residential roofing systems. Commercial roofing experience is a plus. Experience with flashing, vents, pipe boots, skylights, chimneys, and roof penetrations. OSHA or other construction-safety training. Manufacturer-specific roofing training or certifications. Experience documenting damage using photographs, mobile applications, or field-service software.
