Couples & Relationships Therapist Full-time or Part-time | W2 | Hybrid or In-person Pre-licensed clinicians encouraged to apply — LPC, LSW, and AMFT candidates receive free supervision toward full licensure.
Pay:
Fee-for-service W2 position. You earn 42–52%+ of collected session revenue depending on licensure — roughly $53–61 per session pre-licensed, $63+ per session fully licensed.
Schedule:
Full-time (~25 sessions/week) or part-time (15–20 sessions/week). One evening shift and one weekend shift per week required.
If you're working toward licensure: We provide the supervision you need at no cost, plus individual and group consultation.
What makes this different: A caseload that's built for you from day one, a dedicated biller and intake coordinator, and no-show fee protection — so your time goes to clinical work instead of overhead.
Who We Are:
Counseling Works is an established group practice with offices in Naperville, Frankfort, Lemont, and Shorewood. We've spent years building something we're proud of: clinical excellence, real collaboration, and a deep commitment to the communities we serve. We take care of our clinicians because when you feel supported, your clients do too. We're growing, and we're looking for a therapist who brings more than credentials. The right person for this role is comfortable sitting with conflict. You're skilled at helping couples slow down and actually hear each other, and you understand that the relationship itself is your client. Whether you draw from Gottman, EFT, Imago, or attachment-based approaches, you bring a framework to your work and the flexibility to meet each couple where they are. What You'll GetYour caseload and your income Instant caseload. A steady stream of referrals from day one, so you're not building from scratch. Uncapped earnings. No ceiling. See more clients, earn more. No-show protection. When a client is charged a cancellation fee, you receive your split of it. A last-minute cancellation doesn't become lost income. W2 employment, not 1099 — with the benefits and tax treatment that come with it. Your time back A dedicated medical biller and intake coordinator handle scheduling, insurance verification, claims, and paperwork. Hybrid and teletherapy options, so you can build a week that works around your life. Flexible scheduling. You choose your hours. Work-life balance is a stated organizational value, not a perk we mention once. Your growth Free supervision and consultation. Individual consultation with the Owner/Founder and Clinical Director at no cost — for every clinician, licensed or not. Supervision toward licensure is provided at no charge and never deducted from your split. Monthly CEU events plus professional development assistance funds. Marketing support from day one: Psychology Today profile, business cards, and networking opportunities. Clear paths for career advancement as the practice grows. Comfortable, well-decorated private offices across four suburban locations.
Compensation:
This is a fee-for-service role. Therapists earn a percentage of collected session revenue, based on experience and licensure level. What that means annually. You earn 42–52%+ of collected session revenue depending on licensure — roughly $53–61 per session pre-licensed, $63+ per session fully licensed. At a full-time caseload of ~25 sessions per week, a pre-licensed clinician earns approximately $61,000–$70,000 and a fully licensed clinician approximately $72,000+. Actual earnings depend on session volume and licensure, and we're glad to walk through the math when we meet.
