Job Description:
Job Description We are seeking a Progressive Die Designer to support the design and development of tooling for electrical components, appliance components, and mixed industrial products within a metal stamping and manufacturing environment. This role will contribute across the full tooling lifecycle, from die design and simulation through tryout, production launch, and troubleshooting, while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and shop-floor teams. The position may report to the Tooling Manager, Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, or Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
Design progressive dies and develop tooling layouts for stamped components.
Create CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX or CATIA, Creo or Inventor, and company-specific tooling software.
Perform design-for-manufacturing analysis, die simulation, material selection, and sheet metal forming evaluations.
Support prototypes, die build activities, tryouts, production launches, and shop-floor troubleshooting.
Participate in design reviews and apply GD&T requirements to tooling and component designs.
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
Support full lifecycle ownership of progressive die projects from initial design through production.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in progressive die design.
Proficiency in progressive die design and CAD software.
Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; familiarity with NX or CATIA, Creo or Inventor, and company-specific tooling software.
Knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal forming, die simulation, and engineering drawings.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and material selection.
Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
