Emergency Department Overview Approximately 55,000 annual emergency department visits 47-bed Emergency Department Approximately 397 hospital beds Average patient volume of approximately 2 patients per hour Physician and Advanced Practice Clinician staffing model Non-trauma-designated hospital Cerner electronic medical record No dedicated scribe services Clinical Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries Manage a broad range of emergency presentations across varying acuity levels Perform emergency procedures and coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and treatment Collaborate with advanced practice clinicians, nursing teams, and consulting specialties Determine appropriate patient disposition, including admission, transfer, or discharge Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation using Cerner Deliver efficient, evidence-based emergency care in a busy community hospital setting Physician Qualifications MD or DO with completed Emergency Medicine residency training Active, unrestricted California medical license required ABEM or AOBEM board certification preferred Board-eligible Emergency Medicine physicians considered within five years of training 1–3 years of Emergency Medicine experience ACLS certification required ATLS and PALS certifications applicable to other eligible candidates Recent hospital-based Emergency Medicine experience preferred Family Medicine and Internal Medicine-trained physicians are not eligible Why Oceanside?
