Job Description:- Technical Sales Manager – Lithium Battery Solutions
- Remote | U.S. | Travel Required
- We are partnering with an established global manufacturer of highly engineered lithium battery solutions seeking an experienced Technical Sales professional to grow its U.S. customer base.
This is a remote, field-based sales position for someone who already understands the lithium battery market and has an established network of OEM/customer relationships. The company has significant battery engineering and application expertise internally, so they are not looking for a battery engineer who wants to transition into sales. They need a proven salesperson who can get in front of customers, open doors, develop long-term relationships, identify new applications and grow revenue.
The company's battery solutions are primarily used in medical devices, IoT/connectivity products, test & measurement equipment, electronics and smaller industrial/OEM applications. This is very different from large motive-power, automotive, golf cart, floor-cleaning or similar battery markets.
What You'll Do:
Develop new OEM/customer relationships and expand existing business throughout the U.S.Sell lithium battery cells, packs and customized battery solutions into medical, IoT, test & measurement, electronics and small industrial applications.
Build and manage a strong pipeline of new opportunities from prospecting through design-in, quoting, negotiation and close.
Work directly with engineering, purchasing, product development and other customer stakeholders to understand their applications and battery requirements.
Leverage your existing industry relationships and customer network to accelerate growth.
Partner with the company's experienced battery engineering/application teams in Europe for technical support when needed.
Manage and develop relationships with distributors and manufacturer's representatives.
Identify new markets, applications and strategic accounts.
Maintain accurate forecasts, account plans and sales activity.
Travel regularly throughout the territory for customer meetings, industry events, trade shows and partner meetings.
What They're Looking ForDirect sales experience with lithium batteries is required.
Existing customer relationships/network within relevant lithium battery markets is strongly preferred.
Experience selling into medical, IoT, test & measurement, electronics, instrumentation and/or smaller industrial OEM applications is highly preferred.
Proven hunter/new-business-development background — someone comfortable prospecting and opening new accounts, not simply managing an inherited book of business.
Experience working directly with OEM customers and supporting products through the design-in/sales process.
Strong understanding of lithium battery applications with enough technical knowledge to have credible customer conversations.
Experience working with distributors and/or manufacturer's representatives is a plus.
Demonstrated history of building long-term customer relationships and stability/tenure within previous organizations.
Comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based position with regular travel.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident/Green Card holder. The company is not able to provide employment sponsorship.
Important Industry FitThe company is not targeting candidates whose battery experience is primarily in lead-acid/SLA, automotive, golf carts, motive power, floor-cleaning equipment or other large-format vehicle/equipment applications.
They're specifically looking for someone who has sold lithium battery solutions into smaller, technically driven OEM applications and understands the longer design-in sales cycle associated with those products.
Compensation:
The company is flexible on compensation for the right person and understands that an experienced lithium battery salesperson with an established customer base may command a stronger package. The original target was approximately $100K base + uncapped commission, with historical commissions around $25K–$30K annually. However, there is flexibility above that range for someone who brings the right direct lithium battery sales experience, relevant customer relationships and proven track record of generating new business.
