Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical SchoolRobert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJThe Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) is seeking an outstanding leader to serve as Division Chief of Pulmonary Medicine. The Division Chief will be board certified in Pediatric Pulmonology Medicine. The Division Chief will have a strong academic and clinical background and be responsible for all scholarly, clinical, educational, and administrative activities of the Division. The role will include scholarly clinical and educational activities. The Division Chief will have a proven track record in investigative work, clinical care and education. The Division Chief will join 3 full time faculty members who provide Pediatric pulmonology coverage. The Division Chief will be responsible for overall supervision of the Division's faculty members' activities, including teaching, clinical care, research, and other Division and Department duties. The Division Chief will also have the opportunity to participate in either clinical or lab-based research. The clinical services of the division of pediatric pulmonology are conducted at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (BMSCH) of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. The Division Chief will provide overall oversight of Pediatric Pulmonology at Bristol-Myers-Squibb Children's Hospital. The Division Chief will be committed to the academic mission of Rutgers and RWJMS which includes education across the spectrum of trainees including medical students, residents and fellows in the institution. The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. Outpatient services are provided at the Child Health Institute of New Jersey which also houses our research faculty. The commitment to the academic mission of Rutgers RWJMS allows for the educational opportunities across the spectrum of trainees including students, residents, and fellows. The Department of Pediatrics includes physicians and basic scientists who conduct collaborative research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and/or outcomes research in the areas of relevance to childhood diseases. The Department provides a collaborative setting for the study of basic mechanisms of disease and outcomes research that would provide new insights to the treatment of childhood diseases. The Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine is consistently ranked as one of the highly NIH-funded academic universities and Rutgers is a member of the Association of American Universities comprising the top research universities in North America. Adjacent to the Children's hospital is the PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital which is one of the country's largest inpatient acute rehabilitation hospitals for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey – the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey as well as the Ronald MacDonald House.
