Job Summary:
The Teller is responsible for providing exceptional service while processing a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently. This role is often the first point of contact for members and plays a critical role in delivering a positive member experience by addressing routine banking needs and connecting members with additional credit union resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet members promptly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming experience.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other member transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Verify cash totals at the beginning, middle and end of each shift and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
- Set an example of professionalism, behave with integrity, and contribute positively to the culture and brand of the organization.
- Refer members to Financial Services Representatives or Financial Services Officers as appropriate for credit products, new accounts, and other specialized services.
- May participate in light promotional goals with the opportunity for incentives (e.g., refer 5 credit products that fund to receive a performance-based incentive).
- Respond to member inquiries and resolve routine concerns or escalate as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with ATM balancing, night deposit processing, and other daily branch tasks as assigned.
- Maintain the confidentiality of member and credit union information.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Must successfully complete a probationary period, after which employee will be required to join the applicable teller union as a condition of employment.
