Location: Chicago, Illinois
Industry: Flooring Manufacturing | Laminate & Luxury Vinyl Flooring
Territory: Chicago Market & Surrounding AreaAbout the Opportunity
An established flooring manufacturer of more than 30 years, we specialize in laminate flooring and luxury vinyl flooring (LVP/LVT). We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Account Manager to join its growing team in the Chicago market. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced flooring professional who enjoys working directly with customers, developing long-term business relationships, and being part of a company where there is room to grow a career—not simply manage a territory. The company has an established Chicago warehouse, existing inventory, and an active B2B customer base, providing the successful candidate with a strong foundation from which to build and expand.
Position Overview:
The Account Manager will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and growing relationships with the company's existing B2B customers, with a particular focus on their retail flooring divisions. This position combines account management, customer service, business development, product knowledge, and sales growth. The ideal candidate understands the flooring industry, is comfortable working with flooring retailers and dealers, and has the energy and professionalism to become a trusted resource for customers. You will work closely with flooring retailers, dealers, distributors, contractors, and other industry professionals to ensure customers receive outstanding service while identifying opportunities to increase product penetration and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and strengthen relationships with an established portfolio of B2B flooring customers.
Service and support retail flooring accounts throughout the Chicago market.
Develop strong relationships with flooring retailers, purchasing teams, owners, managers, and sales associates.
Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through expanded product offerings and increased volume.
Introduce customers to new laminate and luxury vinyl flooring collections, products, and programs.
Maintain consistent communication and regular customer contact through in-person visits, phone, and email.
Understand each customer's business and develop account strategies that support long-term growth.
Assist customers with product selection, availability, specifications, pricing, and order-related questions.
Coordinate with the Chicago warehouse and internal teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Monitor customer needs, market activity, competitive products, and pricing trends.
Develop new business opportunities within the assigned market while continuing to service existing accounts.
Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, showroom visits, industry events, and other flooring-related activities.
Maintain accurate customer and sales information and follow up on opportunities in a timely manner.
Become a knowledgeable resource on the company's laminate and luxury vinyl product portfolio.
Help identify opportunities for merchandising, displays, samples, product training, and retail-flooring initiatives.
Consistently deliver a high level of responsiveness and customer service.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is an upbeat, motivated flooring professional who enjoys people, understands the flooring business, and wants to build a long-term career with an established manufacturer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in the flooring industry is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of laminate and/or luxury vinyl flooring is highly desirable.
Experience working with flooring retailers, dealers, distributors, or contractors.
Strong relationship-building and account-management skills.
Excellent communication and customer-service abilities.
We are an equal opportunity employer.
