This role begins as soon as possible and extends through June 2027, with part-time hours spread over 2-3 days per week. You'll collaborate with a supportive team of professionals committed to fostering each child's physical and functional abilities, helping them reach critical milestones and succeed in their academic journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in Physical Therapy Assistant studies
- Active Illinois PTA license
- Previous experience in a pediatric or school-based setting is highly valued
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with educators, parents, and students
- Adaptable and proactive approach to meet the individual needs of diverse learners
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective therapy sessions tailored to PreK-3rd grade students
- Assist in assessing students' physical capabilities under the guidance of supervising therapists
- Document progress and maintain detailed records of interventions
- Partner with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment
- Support and encourage students as they work toward achieving developmental goals
