Job DescriptionProTrade is looking for experienced Structural Steel Fitters for a shop-based project in Sophia, NC.ScheduleMonday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PMApproximately 45 hours per weekUp to 3 Saturdays per month (half or full days) Total hours typically range from 49–54 hours per weekWhat You'll Be DoingReading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine fitting and welding requirementsLaying out and fitting structural steel components using measuring tools, clamps, and welding equipmentTacking assemblies in place and performing mockups for welders to complete FCAW and MIG weldingFitting and assembling structural steel components to precise specificationsInspecting welded joints and structural assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety regulationsMaintaining a safe and organized work environment at all timesWhat We're Looking For 3+ years of proven experience as a structural steel fitter or welder in a construction or fabrication environmentExperience working with heavy structural steelExperience with FCAW weldingAbility to read and interpret structural blueprints and drawingsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipSafety-first mindset — no exceptionsReliable attendance and punctualityPhysical RequirementsAbility to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods throughout the shiftAble to lift and carry materials and tools weighing 50+ lbsMust be able to wear and work in full PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots at all timesWhy This OpportunitySteady hours with overtime potential8–12 week assignment with real potential to convert to a full-time permanent positionWork with a team that values skill, reliability, and safety
