Senior Substation Physical Engineer - $120,000 - $180,000 Remoteb19 Consulting is working with an established but expanding power delivery firm, to find a Senior Substation Physical Engineer working coming from an electrical utility background. This is also a great opportunity for a senior engineer looking to make the step up into management. The successful senior substation physical engineer will have:4+ years utility substation design experience (15kV through to 500kV) Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on high voltage and power distribution systems. Strong communication skills to co-ordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives. Prior mentorship, leadership or management experience Professional Engineer (PE) license Proficiency with AutoCAD (2016 or newer) software Proficiency with Micro Station (V8 or newer).Proficiency with CDEGS & grounding calculations. Experience leading & mentoring junior engineers Detailed design of new substation layouts using electrical schematics, bill of materials and equipment specifications. Experience preparing substation design calculations such as bus sizing, power loading, DC loading, lighting and cable sizing. Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project.
