Job Description:
Job Description Zemer International is seeking a skilled, full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing conveyor belt systems. This position supports continuous operations and requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. We operate 7 days a week, 40 hours per week, rain or shine.
Responsibilities:- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, loaders, and related machinery
- Inspect, repair, and align conveyor belt systems, including belts, rollers, pulleys, motors, bearings, and drives
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Identify issues early to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Follow all safety procedures, MSHA/OSHA standards, and company policies
Requirements:- Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience
- Conveyor belt system experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and in industrial settings
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
