About Our ClientOur client is a high-growth, profitable B2B SaaS organization delivering mission-critical software solutions to mid-market and enterprise teams in complex, highly regulated industries—including life sciences, clinical research, financial services, healthcare, and risk management. Supported by strong growth equity backing, solid customer retention, and clear product-market fit, the company is expanding its footprint across North America and key international markets. Because buyers in these sectors are sophisticated leaders facing strict regulatory oversight, growth is driven by credibility, disciplined positioning, and strategic demand generation rather than high-volume tactics. Backed by experienced growth investors, our client offers a high-visibility leadership environment where marketing is recognized as a primary engine for long-term value creation.
About The Role:
The VP/Director of Marketing is a high-impact leadership opportunity to build, scale, and own the modern B2B marketing function end-to-end. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will initially operate as a hands-on strategic builder with full ownership of marketing strategy, budget allocation, agency resources, and eventual team expansion as performance milestones are met. The mandate is to take existing foundational momentum—including established automation tools, active event programs, and early search traction—and turn it into a predictable, scalable growth engine. The first 6 to 12 months will be execution-focused: refining target market segments, establishing win/loss and customer research processes, sharpening core messaging, optimizing paid and organic channels, building pipeline attribution, and partnering closely with Sales and Product leadership to accelerate market share.
Key Responsibilities:
Go-to-Market Strategy & Segmentation: Define ideal customer profiles (ICPs), target account priorities, and positioning across domestic and select international growth markets.
Demand Generation & Campaign Ownership: Own multi-channel demand programs across digital search, email, events, account-based marketing (ABM), and targeted campaigns to deliver qualified pipeline.
Market & Customer Insights: Build a repeatable customer feedback, win/loss, and competitive intelligence process to inform product messaging, positioning, and sales enablement.
Marketing Operations & Measurement: Establish transparent lead definitions, scoring models, and executive dashboards to measure marketing KPIs, conversion rates, customer acquisition economics, and pipeline attribution.
Content & Brand Storytelling: Create high-value thought leadership, customer success stories, and product positioning tailored to senior decision-makers in regulated sectors.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Sales, Product, and executive leadership to align pipeline targets, maintain customer feedback loops, and lead monthly business performance reviews.
Team & Resource Ownership: Direct external agency partners and marketing technologies, expanding the internal team as revenue and pipeline metrics scale.
Qualifications & Preferred SkillsB2B SaaS Leadership: 6+ years of progressive B2B SaaS marketing experience with a proven track record of owning demand generation, product marketing, and measurable pipeline growth.
Regulated Market Experience: Background marketing software into life sciences, clinical research, financial services, healthcare, governance, or related regulated sectors.
Strategic Builder Mindset: Proven capacity to architect a marketing function from an early foundation while maintaining the discipline to execute directly during initial growth stages.
Data-Driven Approach: Deep familiarity with pipeline reporting, funnel analytics, acquisition costs, and channel attribution, with experience presenting performance data to CEOs and investors.
MarTech & Technical Command: Practical fluency with standard B2B marketing stacks, CRMs, automation platforms, search platforms, and reporting tools.
Executive Communication: Exceptional verbal and written messaging skills capable of translating technical software workflows into compelling, credible narratives for enterprise buyers.
PE / Growth Equity & Global Exposure (Preferred): Experience within private equity-backed software environments or executing international GTM initiatives is highly desirable.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel for trade events, customer engagement, and company meetings.
