Toolroom Employee The Cooper Standard Gaylord, MI manufacturing plant is looking to hire a Toolmaker to work in the Tool Room. The pay rate is $34.50 per hour. Set-up and perform machine and bench operations necessary to make, alter, or repair tools, jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, or gauges of complex design. Performs a variety of operations at a high skill and a wide variety of operations at moderate skill. Works from blueprints, diagrams, or samples to very close tolerances.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:- Analyze specifications
- Layout metal stock
- Set-up and operate machine tools
- Fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies
- Work with high precision and close tolerances
- Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machinery
- Set-up secondary tooling operations.
Qualifications:
Applied knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics metal properties, layout and machining procedures. Blueprint reading and specification of sketches. Education And/Or Experience: High school graduate with (2 years vocational school training in machine tool technology a plus). 5-7 years tool room experience preferably in a manufacturing facility. Journeymen Tool & Die preferred.
Physical Demands: Walking, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting 60+ lbs.
