Krause Estate Planning & Elder Law Center is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and organized Legal Assistant to support our legal team while providing a welcoming experience for clients and visitors. This role combines client hospitality with administrative and legal support, including document preparation, file management, scheduling, and witnessing and notarizing documents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warmly greet clients and visitors, obtain their names, provide seating and refreshments, and notify the appropriate attorney or Navigator of their arrivalPrepare, print, assemble, scan, and maintain legal documents and client filesWitness and notarize documents as neededMaintain attorney calendars and schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointmentsAssist with estate plan binders and client pick-up appointmentsCommunicate professionally with clients, prospective clients, and vendors by phone and emailPrepare meeting rooms and help maintain an organized, welcoming office environmentMaintain office and kitchen supplies and ensure printers, scanners, and other office equipment remain stocked and operationalPerform other administrative and legal support duties as assignedWHAT'S REQUIRED?High school diploma or equivalent requiredUp to two years of legal office or related experience preferredStrong communication, organization, and attention to detailFriendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client serviceAbility to effectively manage multiple priorities in a busy office environmentComfortable working in a Microsoft Windows environment and using email, calendars, document management systems, and networked scanners and printersMust be a commissioned Notary Public or able to obtain a Notary Public commission within 30 days of hireBENEFITS:Employer Paid Medical, plus Dental and Vision OptionsDisability/Critical Illness Insurance Options 401(k) Flexible Spending AccountEmployee Assistance ProgramWORK ENVIRONMENT:This is an office-based role that will work Monday through Friday at our Brookfield, WI location during regular business hours.
