Thomas, Thomas, and Hafer, LLP (TTH) is a regional civil litigation defense law firm established in 1977. Position Overview:
TTH is seeking an experienced General Liability Attorney to represent insurance and corporate clients in general liability matters in our Richmond, VA office. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator who can manage a caseload independently, deliver strong results for clients, and contribute to the firm's collaborative and growth-oriented culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters from intake through resolution, including pre-litigation, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal as needed.
Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration, administrative, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
Develop and execute case strategy in coordination with clients, adjusters, and defense teams.
Communicate regularly and effectively with clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes.
Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations where appropriate.
Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to ensure efficient and high-quality case handling.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in good standing in the relevant state(s); additional bar admissions in the multiple state’s is a plus.
Prior experience in civil litigation defense; general liability experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated litigation skills, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial experience.
