DSP - West Orange NJ

Responsibilities: Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs) Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community outings, and recreational activities Administer medications and monitor health conditions per established protocols Foster independence, dignity, and community inclusion for all individuals served Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team membersRequirements: High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation a plus Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnights as needed CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
