Customer Support Specialist

Akkodis is seeking aCustomer Accounts Associatein Warren, MI. We are seeking aCustomer Accounts Associateto join our team and support the setup, maintenance, and accuracy of customer accounts. This role is responsible for maintaining customer master data for both new and existing customers, conducting credit checks, establishing credit limits, and ensuring customer information is accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate isprofessional, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment .Pay Range: $26/hr. - $30/hr. (The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)Key Responsibilities Create, maintain, update, suspend, and reactivate customer accounts and customer master data. Review and process new customer account requests and verify customer information, including business addresses, contacts, and phone numbers. Perform credit checks using Dun & Bradstreet (D&B)and assist with establishing appropriate customer credit limits. Manage customerCOD and payment termsand ensure account information is accurately maintained. Work closely with Sales Representatives to address customer needs and resolve account-related questions. Partner with the Collections team regarding customer accounts and credit-related matters. Coordinate with the Routing team to ensure accurate delivery and routing information is entered and maintained. Communicate with IT, Sales Support, Routing, and other internal teams to ensure requested customer data and updates are completed accurately and on time. Review customer contracts during the onboarding process and communicate relevant requirements to the appropriate internal teams. Respond professionally to customer and internal inquiries and elevate issues when necessary. Help improve processes related to customer account setup, communication, data accuracy, and operational efficiency. Participate in process improvement initiatives, including documentation, training, automation, and streamlining of existing procedures. Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications & SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel .Previous customer service or customer-facing experience preferred. Experience with customer account setup, account maintenance, credit checks, or establishing credit limits is a plus. AS400 / IBM i / Green Screen experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in a high-volume retail, food service, distribution, or other fast-paced environment is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, "go-getter" attitude.
